Steve founded Alexander & Co. Ltd in 2000 to tackle the New Zealand building industry's weathertightness problems. During his work in construction, Steve saw the standard of workmanship and knowledge drop, while legal disputes increased. Instead of leaving, he wanted to fix the problem. With Alexander & Co,. he pioneered a profession so new to the country that staff had to be sourced from the United Kingdom. An accredited advisor with a diploma in Dispute Resolution, Steve continues to seek cutting-edge thinking by attending regular international conferences. Steve's career is underpinned by his desire for change, working to transform the industry so that structures are built to last.
Michael brings a unique perspective to Alexander & Co. Ltd, with extensive experience in the taxation of land transactions, trusts, restructuring, GST and the broad spectrum of tax issues facing SMEs. Michael began his career at Deloitte's London in 1979. Shortly after, he established a company in Vancouver then returned to Auckland in 1984, where he worked as a sole practitioner. He later incorporated his practice as M J Roberts and Associates Ltd. After working with Blackmore Virtue and Owens as a tax partner for nearly a decade, Michael re-established his own practice as M. Roberts and Associates Ltd.
